International Seminar on China's Innovation Development and Global Economy
Background
Along with four-decade development of reform and opening up, China is moving toward the world with unprecedented breadth and depth while influenced by the world in an unparalleled way. China's proportion in the world economy has approximately reached 15%. As a developing country with a 1.3 billion population, China shapes the most important market for global economic growth and exerts a direct impact on global trade and employment. China’s currency and energy management has also become a major factor affecting the global economy. At a stage of economic innovation development, in particular, China encourages more enterprises to integrate into the global innovation industrial chain as a new form of integrating into the globalization process and strive to make new contributions to the world economy. Meanwhile, the global innovation development is in the ascendant amid the new round of global economic integration. The new opportunities and challenges facing economic activities, including global trade, also impose an important impact on China's economic development. Since the development of the world economy is important to the goal of a community of shared future for mankind, the further cooperation and development between the Chinese and global economy will undoubtedly benefit the endeavor to build a community of shared future for mankind.
In view of this, the Institutes of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will host the International Seminar on China's Innovation Development and Global Economy together with the Chinese Association of Development Strategy Studies, Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies of Harvard University, and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore.
