CASISD ranks global top 1% institutions according to ESI
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institutes of Science and Development (CASISD) ranks global top 1% institutions for the first time in the research field of Engineering, according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) released on January 2019.
ESI contains rankings across 22 broad disciplines for authors institutions, countries and journals, the database of which is updated bi-monthly. The current database has been updated as of January 18, 2019, to cover a 10-year + 10 months period, namely from January 1, 2008 to October 31, 2018.
Compared to the ESI ranking as of November 11, 2018, it is the first time for CASISD to be enrolled in ESI disciplines, indicating an outstanding research performance in the specific field of Engineering. More than 20 out of 73 CAS institutions ranking global top 1% display excellent performance concentrating on disciplines of Chemistry, Engineering, Environment/Ecology and Materials Science.
Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is an analytical tool launched by Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) that helps you identify top-performing research based on the publication and citation performance sourced from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) in Web of Science Core Collection, by surveying more than 12,000 journals from around the world.
