CASISD Releases the First Issue of IDP Journal in 2020

2020-10-10

The first issue of Innovation and Development Policy (IDP) Journal in 2020 is now available on its website (http://idp-journal.casisd.cn/), and the previous two issues in 2019 are also available to be viewed with open access.

IDP is an international peer-reviewed journal hosted by the Institutes of Science and Development of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASISD) that publishes empirical and theoretical papers of high quality in the fields of innovation and development policy/management. The journal is devoted to the improvement and further development of the theory and practice of innovation and development policy/management, and designed to appeal to practicing manager, policymakers and academics.

This issue includes four articles, presenting studying results on innovation and development policy with insightful perspectives contributed by 14 researchers from both China and England.

The paper of A Review of Innovation in Chinese Firms over the Last 40 Years: Navigating the Winding Road toward Innovation (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3724/SP.J.2096-5141.2020.0001) reviewed the innovation experiences in China from 1978 to 2018 across four unique stages and offered suggestions for future innovation.

The paper of Structure of National Science and Technology Competitiveness: A Methodological and Empirical Study (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3724/SP.J.2096-5141.2020.0002) constructed an evaluation framework of the national S&T competitiveness and conducted an empirical research with related data of 35 major countries accordingly.

The paper of Ownership Reform of On-duty Inventions and University Patent Output: Analytical Model and Empirical Evidence (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3724/SP.J.2096-5141.2020.0003) revealed the inconsistency in the ownership structure reform measures of on-duty inventions, and a policy attempting to stimulate patent output and commercialization. It also proposed an analytical model to address the impact of intellectual property ownership structure on patent productivity.

The paper of Testing Operating Performance of Chinese Listed Firms before and after Cross-border M&As: The Role of Entrepreneurial Orientation (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3724/SP.J.2096-5141.2020.0004) is the first trial looking along both the two dimensions to test whether Chinese firms' operating performance changes after cross-border merger and acquisition (CBM&A) activities, using entrepreneurial orientation (EO) as a moderating factor.
